What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

I was taking a law class in grad school – the instruction mentioned (in jest) that the term “e-mail” stands for “Evidence Mail,” not “Electronic Mail.” I think of this every time I need to write a business sensitive e-mail regarding something that could have repercussions later on.
